Dental Office Admin

Salary Range:  $15 - $17 hour

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our dental clinic, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of dental terminology and medical office procedures.

Hours:  Will begin learning basic of dental front office on Tuesday (4 hours and Fridays) 4 hours possible hours added during week.  This is part-time with potential for more hours during week.

Duties

  • Assist with clerical duties such as calls, set up of tables, for our dental training classes in held at our office on 2x a week.
  • Greet patients as they arrive and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Verify patient insurance information and perform insurance verification to ensure coverage for services rendered.
  • Handle medical billing and coding, including CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper documentation review.
  • Assist with medical collections as needed, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding accounts.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, addressing patient inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Manage clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records.
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to care plans and patient intake processes.
  • Utilize computer skills to operate various EMR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology and clinic experience is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required; experience with 10 key typing is a plus.
  • Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for interacting with patients effectively.
