Duties and Responsibilities
Assist dentists during procedures and exams, handling tools and equipment efficiently
Prepare treatment rooms for each appointment, ensuring cleanliness and readiness
Sterilize and disinfect instruments according to hygiene protocols
Take and process dental X-rays under dentist supervision
Make preliminary impressions and fabricate custom trays as needed
Provide postoperative instructions and educate patients on oral health
Manage and update patient records while maintaining confidentiality
Assist in handling medical and dental emergencies
Support inventory management of dental supplies and equipment
Aid office operations, including phone calls, scheduling, and patient communication
Requirements:
Current Dental Assistant certification or ability to obtain before start
Previous dental office experience preferred
Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and ethics
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with empathy for patients
Strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination for detailed dental work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to confidentiality
Basic computer skills; experience with Open Dental preferred
CPR certification or ability to obtain before start
