Program Context
The Regional Prevention Specialist team supports suicide prevention, resilience, and risk reduction initiatives, with a focus on serving military populations, including National Guard units. The team will leverage evidence-based practices, such as those outlined in the Army Suicide Prevention Program (e.g., ACE training model) and National Guard’s Warrior Resilience and Fitness Division, to deliver high-impact training and support.
Candidate must reside within the geographic area of assignment (see below). Primary work location is REMOTE, with travel a few times a month around the region.

Applicants who meet ONE or both of the following descriptions are encouraged to apply:
1. Curriculum Development Expert
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, instructional design, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required if compensated by extensive relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in curriculum development and instructional design, preferably for adult learners.
- Experience designing training programs related to suicide prevention, resilience, or mental health is highly desirable.
- Preference for candidates with military training experience or familiarity with prevention-focused programs (e.g., public health, behavioral health).
- Expertise in developing evidence-based, engaging curricula that align with organizational goals and learner needs.
- Proficiency in evaluating training program effectiveness and incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and modern instructional design methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and program evaluators to ensure curriculum relevance and impact.
2. Prevention Specialist
- Master’s degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
- Hold a licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level
- Have a minimum of 5 years of post-licensure clinical experience or related field with a minimum of five years’ experience in suicide prevention, resilience, or risk reduction programs.
- Teaching credentials preferred.
- Experience in instructing and briefing skills, which demonstrate flexibility with executive level audiences.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and metric development.
- Must be proficient in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating suicide prevention and resilience training programs.
Additional Requirements
- Team Collaboration: All team members must work collaboratively to ensure comprehensive coverage of suicide prevention, resilience, and risk reduction program needs. This includes sharing expertise, coordinating training delivery, and supporting program evaluation efforts.
- Technology Proficiency: All positions require proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) for data tracking, reporting, and metric development.
- Travel and Flexibility: Team members must be able to travel to state units or training sites and work variable schedules, including weekends, as dictated by program demands.
