Please note, this is not a remote job; the role requires physical presence at various project sites and our main offices to effectively coordinate and manage all aspects of electrical project management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and implement comprehensive project plans to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams comprising engineers, technicians, and other specialists to ensure a cohesive approach to electrical project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, project teams, and external stakeholders to provide regular updates and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with national, state, and local safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout all project phases.
  • Maintain financial oversight over projects, controlling project budget, managing project costs, and optimizing project expenditures.
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors as needed to ensure favorable terms and adherence to project specifications.
  • Carry out risk assessments to anticipate and mitigate potential issues that could impact project timelines or outcomes.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency, reliability, and sustainability practices within the organization.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to team members to cultivate a collaborative work environment conducive to growth and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in electrical project management, particularly within the construction or industrial sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing sizable project teams in dynamic environments.
  • Expertise in using project management tools and software to track project progress and manage resources effectively.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage budgets, with strong numerical and financial planning skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-standard electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) preferred.
  • Resilience and problem-solving orientation, capable of handling project setbacks and devising effective recovery strategies.
  • Availability to travel to project sites, as required, to ensure project deliverables are met according to client specifications.
