Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for estimating commercial and industrial electrical projects, cultivating client relationships, and managing awarded projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of the electrical industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Estimating Duties

· Cultivate and maintain relationships with new and existing clients through outreach, including cold calling, in-person visits, and phone calls.

· Prepare accurate project estimates using the estimating database (McCormick).

· Review project solicitations, scopes of work, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive bids.

· Communicate effectively with trade partners, subcontractors, and team members regarding project details.

· Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive estimates.

· Prepare detailed cost analyses and estimates for commercial and industrial projects.

· Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and on schedule.

· Manage and track bid pricing from vendors.

· Follow up with clients on pending bids and maintain awareness of future project opportunities.

· Balance multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

· Build and sustain strong working relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Project Management Duties

· Review project specific submittals (lighting, lighting controls, switchgear, etc.).

· Oversee subcontractor performance as required.

· Draft, communicate, and manage change orders.

· Plan, develop, and maintain project schedules from award to completion.

· Create material lists and coordinate timely ordering of project materials.

· Maintain safety and quality control standards across all projects.

· Provide field technicians with clear direction regarding project execution and expectations.

· Offer ongoing support to field staff by answering questions and providing technical guidance.

· Supervise and monitor project progress, ensuring customer satisfaction upon job completion.

· Manage all project closeout procedures, including warranty documentation, as-builts, commissioning, and training.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and owners throughout the project lifecycle.

· Collaborate professionally with internal team members and assist colleagues as needed.

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute ideas to increase company efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications

· Proven experience in estimating and project management within the electrical or construction industry.

· Proficiency with estimating software (McCormick preferred).

· Strong understanding of electrical systems, specifications, and drawings.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
