Role Overview & Daily Responsibilities:
As a Pest Control Sales Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in direct, door-to-door customer engagement. Interns actively work in residential neighborhoods, meeting homeowners face-to-face at their doorstep to introduce professionally delivered pest control solutions. This internship emphasizes real-world communication by requiring interns to initiate conversations, assess household needs in real time, and clearly explain how pest control services address common residential challenges. All customer interactions occur in a door-to-door, in-person sales environment.
This internship develops practical skills in interpersonal communication, persuasion, and professional presence. Interns learn how to build rapport quickly, communicate value with clarity and confidence, and establish trust within short, high-impact door-to-door interactions. Through repeated practice and guided feedback, interns gain experience turning initial conversations with unfamiliar homeowners into long-term customer relationships.
RIDD provides a structured, educational internship framework. Interns receive comprehensive field-based sales training, direct mentorship from experienced professionals, and a leadership development curriculum that combines classroom-style instruction, digital learning resources, and supervised real-world application.
Key Responsibilities:
Commit to traveling to, and working, in one of our 8 locations around the US (Rental Bonus covers housing.)
Conduct door-to-door canvassing to enroll homeowner clients in our high-quality pest control services.
Learn how to conduct entry-level sales interviews, hire new employees, help us train novice sales talent.
Work around homeowners' schedules, focusing on afternoon and evening availability to maximize engagement.
Commit to a seasonal summer work schedule from April through September (or a similar time frame).
Complete applicable pre-field trainings and participate in daily training meetings throughout the regular season.
Who We’re Looking For:
No sales experience? No problem! While a background in sales is a plus, we provide comprehensive training to set you up for success.
Perfect for College students and grads looking for Business, Management, Marketing, and Sales experience in the field.
Prepared to travel to, and live, in-market at one of our 8 locations nationwide (housing costs subsidized through performance-based bonuses)
Must be resilient and adaptable, able to handle regular rejection while maintaining a professional, positive attitude.
Full-time availability required (9-hour shifts) from April through September for the summer sales season.
Strong communication skills are a must; bilingual candidates are a plus!
Willingness to learn, follow scripts, and complete sales training to improve performance.
Thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Compensation:
Approximated seasonal/summer earnings: $7,500 - $10,500 (includes advances, commissions, housing bonuses, car stipends, performance bonuses, and profit-sharing).
