The position is full-time and located at our vibrant Ogden location, right in the heart of the community’s bustling dining scene. Please note that this role is not eligible for remote work.

As a Prep Cook at Slackwater Ogden, you will play a vital role in supporting daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and assisting with food preparation tasks. This position ensures that all ingredients are properly prepared, organized, and ready for use, contributing to efficient workflow and consistent food quality. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing the best culinary experience to our patrons.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients such as vegetables, meats, sauces, and other food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation and cooking tasks as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and food storage areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure ingredients are labeled, stored correctly, and rotated to maintain freshness and quality.
• Support timely food service by keeping prep work completed ahead of service periods.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Must obtain a valid Utah Food Handler’s Certification within 14 days of hire.
