Unarmed Security Officer

Overview

No two shifts look exactly alike when you protect Baltimore's businesses. Enterprise Security Services Corporation, a women-owned and minority-owned firm with 30-plus years of security experience, is hiring Unarmed Security Officers to cover client locations across the Baltimore metro. We are after dependable professionals who take ownership of the spaces they protect.

Where you'll work

Officers support a range of client sites around Baltimore, including retail stores, shopping centers, offices, and comparable venues. Assignments are made based on where coverage is needed, so your worksite may differ between assignments. We are hiring people who can work reliably at locations within and around the city.

Responsibilities

• Establish a visible, professional presence that deters theft and disorder
• Conduct regular foot patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking areas
• Manage access control and direct visitors at entry points
• Observe CCTV and alarm systems and act on anything out of the ordinary
• Step in to defuse conflicts and handle disturbances with composure
• Coordinate with store or property management throughout the shift
• Prepare incident reports and shift logs that are accurate and complete

Requirements

• Possess or be able to obtain Maryland security guard certification, processed through our licensed agency under Maryland State Police requirements
• Meet Maryland's minimum age and eligibility standards for security work
• Pass a thorough criminal background check
• Reliable way to commute to assigned sites across the Baltimore area
• Clear communication and strong observation skills
• Able to stand and patrol for long stretches
• Basic first aid or CPR certification is a plus, though not required

Uniform & equipment

A clean Class A black uniform is required (ability to obtain). Radios or other equipment may be issued.

Schedule

Coverage may include mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
