Salary Range:  $75 - $85 hour

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Per Diem

Position Qualifications

  • Speech-Language Pathologist with current licensure to practice professional speech therapy in the state.

  • Graduate of a speech-language pathology master's program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Possesses a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

  • Maintains a current CPR certification.

  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.

  • Speech-Language Pathologists shall have a minimum of (a) one (1) year of experience as a professional SLP within the last three (3) years OR (b) meet the requirements for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) under the supervision of a licensed CCC-SLP. Minimum of two years’ experience, at least one of which is in the area of acute care, rehabilitation, or home health, is preferred.

  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Management experience not required. Responsible for collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and supervising home health aides when speech therapy is the only qualifying service.

  • Demonstrates excellent observation, problem solving, verbal and written communications; clinical skills in dysphagia, cognitive-communication, and speech/language disorders per competency checklist.

  • Shows ability to organize and prioritize workload independently.

  • Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position, and/or transfer patients. Able to lift supplies and equipment (e.g., AAC devices, testing materials). Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and/or crouching. Visual acuity and hearing to perform required clinical swallow assessments and communication screenings.
