Currently, we are looking to extend our enthusiastic team by adding a full-time Dental Assistant. This role is fundamental in supporting our dental operations and ensuring each patient leaves our clinic with a smile. Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site (Not a Remote Job)
Operating Hours: Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Location: 225 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare examination and surgical rooms by sterilizing instruments and moving equipment into place
- Assist in updating and maintaining client dental records
- Perform routine dental cleanings and assist in the handling of more complex dental procedures
- Ensure that all dental instruments and equipment are in proper working order
- Provide patients with postoperative instructions prescribed by the dentist
- Assist in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary
- Provide supportive care to patients during dental examinations
- Maintain dental inventory by checking stocks and anticipating needed supplies
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the practice
- Promote and adhere to all office protocols and procedures for cleanliness and organization
- Assist doctors during all dental procedures including but not limited to extractions, root canals and cosmetic dental procedures
- Participate in daily team meetings and patient reviews
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant
- Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Familiarity with dental office software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental)
- Certificate or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program
- Dental X-ray certification
- Current BLS and CPR certification
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with a passion for patient care and wellness
- Commitment to further education and professional development
