Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develops, reviews, and updates Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on assessed needs, IPP objectives, and data analysis, consistent with Title 17 §56040(c).
  • Provides behavioral consultation, staff training, and coaching to ensure consistent, evidence-based, and least restrictive implementation of behavioral interventions, consistent with Title 17 §§54319(b), 54342(c).
  • Reviews behavioral data and progress toward IPP goals, makes recommendations for program adjustments, and collaborates with the Administrator and Regional Center to ensure effective and compliant service delivery, consistent with Title 17 §§56048(d)(5), 54342(d).

Requirements

  • Holder of a minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, behavior analysis, social work, special education, or a closely related human services field, consistent with Title 17 §56040(a).
  • Has at least one year of documented experience providing behavioral assessment, intervention, and consultation services to individuals with developmental disabilities exhibiting significant behavioral challenges, consistent with Title 17 §54319(a).
  • Demonstrates training and experience in evidence-based behavioral assessment and intervention, including Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Support Plan (BSP) development, consistent with Title 17 §54342(b).
  • Meets all applicable professional, ethical, and regulatory standards for service delivery, including ongoing professional development and compliance with Regional Center policies, consistent with Title 17 §§56040(b), 54319(c).
