Traveling Physical Therapist Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality PTA services across various rural healthcare settings under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising PT.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and approved modalities.
  • Document patient treatments, progress, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and strategies to support long-term wellness.
  • Adapt smoothly to new work environments, teams, and patient populations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated, effective care.
  • Monitor patient responses and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising PT.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a positive team culture.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (or anticipated graduation).
  • Current PTA license (or eligibility) in at least one state we serve; willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
  • Strong adaptability and comfort working in diverse clinical environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
  • Interest in rural healthcare and supporting rehabilitation teams across multiple communities.
  • Willingness to travel and complete short-term assignments.
