Installer Plumber (Plumbing Installer Technician)

Location: San Diego, California (Field-based with office meetings)

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $28.00 – $40.00+ per hour (based on experience)

1. Position Overview

Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Installer/Technician Plumber to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that plumbing installations meet safety standards, adhere to blueprints, and function efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of completing installations to code while maintaining strong communication with clients and team members.

2. Role Purpose

The Installer Plumber ensures that plumbing systems are installed correctly, efficiently, and in compliance with all codes and company standards. This role directly impacts project quality, client satisfaction, and company reputation.

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with project specifications and blueprints
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting
  • Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to complete tasks efficiently and safely
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment while adhering to safety protocols
  • Conduct remodeling or renovation work on existing plumbing systems as needed
  • Collaborate with construction teams, carpenters, HVAC specialists, and other trades to coordinate project timelines
  • Follow all safety guidelines on construction sites, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

4. Candidate Requirements

Experience

  • Proven 5 yr. experience in plumbing
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and pipe threading machinery
  • Knowledge of sewer systems.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity over extended periods
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during installations
  • Construction site experience with familiarity in remodeling or assembly projects
  • Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred for site access or material transport
  • Maintenance person experience or carpentry skills are advantageous for versatile project support
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in schematic interpretation and troubleshooting

Skills & Knowledge

Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and installation methods

Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Good communication and customer service skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 65-75 lbs

Comfortable working in physically demanding environments

Other Requirements

Valid driver’s license preferred

Ability to travel between job sites

5. Working Conditions

Full-time, field-based position

Work across residential and commercial job sites

Occasional office meetings

Day shift typical
