Position Summary

The Trenchless Sewer Lining Apprentice supports experienced technicians in all phases of the trenchless rehabilitation process. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, reliable, and eager to build a long-term career in the plumbing and trenchless repair industry. Apprentices learn to operate equipment, assist with pipe preparation and liner installation, and ensure that all work meets Almco Plumbing’s high standards for safety and quality.

Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Preparation    

•    Assist with pre-construction video inspections to assess the pipe’s condition.    

•    Help with cleaning and descaling sewer lines using jetting or mechanical tools.    

•    Set up and organize tools, hoses, and materials at each job site.    

•    Learn to locate and install cleanouts and access points for trenchless entry.    

•    Support technicians with site safety and cleanup before and after each project.Lining & Coating Assistance    

•    Assist with pull-in-place liner installation and epoxy spray or brush coating applications.    

•    Help with liner inflation, curing, and calibration under supervision.    

•    Learn to operate and maintain CCTV inspection cameras and trenchless tools.    

•    Observe and assist with basic troubleshooting of sewer line problems.Post-Construction & Quality Control    

•    Support in cutting, sealing, and finishing liner ends at cleanouts and manholes.    

•    Help document final inspection results and record liner installation data.    

•    Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic maintenance as instructed.

Qualifications    

•    No prior trenchless experience required — on-the-job training provided.    

•    Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new tools and technologies.    

•    Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions carefully.    

•    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.    

•    Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills (Not Required)    

•    Basic plumbing or construction experience.    

•    Familiarity with power tools and safety procedures.    

•    Interest in long-term career advancement to Trenchless Technician or Lead Installer roles.
