Job Description

Laurel Village Dental Loft has an exciting opportunity for a proactive and patient-centric individual to join our team as a Dental Assistant. This full-time position is perfect for someone who thrives in a highly communicative and team-oriented environment. Notably, this is an on-site role at our boutique aesthetic dental practice located in Laurel Heights, and remote work is not available. As part of our team, you'll engage in varied activities, ensuring comprehensive support in dental procedures and fostering lasting relationships with patients. This role requires a reliable, professional, and detail-oriented individual who wishes to grow professionally within our supportive and fun environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Set up the treatment room for patients.
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
  • Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
  • Perform iTero scanning and manage the fabrication of temporary crowns.
  • Assist in procedures involving crown preps, fillings, extractions, and impressions for crowns, dentures, and partials.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as patient records updating and scheduling appointments.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock, determining inventory level, and anticipating needed supplies.
  • Participate in training staff for appropriate dental assisting responsibilities.
  • Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and arranging for repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience assisting in general dentistry.
  • Comfortable and confident assisting with temporary crown fabrication, iTero scanning, crown preps, fillings, extractions, and impressions.
  • Proficient in digital X-rays and has good knowledge of Dentrix, Dexis, and iTero systems.
  • Relevant certifications in good standing.
  • Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented.
  • Punctual, accountable, and proactive.
  • Friendly, compassionate, and enjoys providing patient care.
  • Committed to professional growth and long-term collaboration (3+ year commitment preferred).
