Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide daily care to clients based on their specific needs and care plans.
- Support clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist in the management of medication schedules and remind clients to take prescribed medications.
- Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences and assist with feeding, if necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for clients.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in activities that enhance their emotional and intellectual well-being.
- Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, or other outings to promote socialization and mobility.
- Monitor and report any changes in the client’s condition or behavior to the supervisory care manager.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to provide seamless and integrated care to our clients.
- Follow all company policies and protocols while maintaining client confidentiality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a caregiver in a professional setting; home care experience preferred.
- Ability to perform personal care tasks with respect and dignity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships.
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and transferring clients as needed.
- Must pass background checks and possess valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain upon hiring.
- Flexible with scheduling and available to work weekends and holidays, as required.
- Possess a compassionate, understanding, and patient demeanor.
