Job Opening at Artisan Wood Fired Kitchen: Host (Part-Time)

Artisan Wood Fired Kitchen, renowned for its unique and vibrant culinary experience, is excited to announce a job opening for a part-time Host. This role is crucial as the first point of contact for our guests, embodying the spirit and essence of our community-focused dining experience. Located in the heart of our bustling kitchen environment, this position is integral in shaping the initial impression of our establishment. Please note, this is not a remote job and requires the host to be present at the restaurant during their shifts.

The ideal candidate for the Host position will be a dynamic and welcoming individual, capable of managing the ebb and flow of our establishment’s front house operations. As the face of Artisan Wood Fired Kitchen, you will greet guests with a warm smile, efficiently manage reservations and walk-ins, and ensure seamless communication between guests and our service team. This role is suited for someone passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of our restaurant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly as they enter the restaurant, providing a friendly and warm welcome.
  • Assess dining room and reservation schedule to determine guest seating arrangements.
  • Manage the waiting list during high traffic times, providing accurate wait times and frequent updates to waiting guests.
  • Answer phone calls with professionalism, handle reservations and respond to inquiries regarding menu and dining options.
  • Take to-go orders over the phone, ensuring accuracy and providing callers with the same quality of service as in-house guests.
  • Retain all tips received from to-go orders placed directly through phone interactions.
  • Coordinate with the service staff to inform them of new tables and ensure a smooth transition from arrival to being seated.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and entryway area to uphold the restaurant’s high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Provide menus and inform guests of any specials or promotions before they are seated.
  • Assist in setting up the dining area at the beginning of each shift, and help with cleaning and rearrangement of the area as needed throughout and at the end of the shift.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment without compromising quality of service.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time during each shift.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's scheduling needs. 
    • Main times will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
