Griffith Family Dental is excited to offer a career opportunity for a dedicated and professional Dental Billing Assistant. We are seeking a highly organized individual to join our team in a Full-Time capacity. This position is not eligible for remote work, requiring the successful candidate to work on-site at our well-equipped, family-oriented dental practice. At Griffith Family Dental, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dental care with a focus on personalized patient experiences. The Dental Billing Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring services are accurately billed and compensated.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review completed services and ensure procedures are posted correctly
  • Help batch dental claims for the billing team. 
  • Review insurance benefits, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and ensure reimbursement accuracy.
  • Bill patients for outstanding balances and follow up on unpaid accounts.
  • Communicate with patients in person and over the phone regarding billing questions, balances, and payment options.
  • Perform daily book audits, including reviewing charges, payments, adjustments, and account accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records.
  • Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to ensure proper documentation and billing accuracy.
  • Support month-end and ongoing financial audits as needed.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in dental billing and/or dental insurance coordinator.
  • Prior experience as a Dental Billing or similar dental administrative role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, CDT codes, and billing procedures.
  • Experience with dental practice management software.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable communicating financial information to patients professionally and respectfully.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and dental billing compliance requirements.
  • Professional, confident, and patient-focused communication style.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive financial discussions with empathy.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and accountable mindset.
