This Full-Time position bridges financial expertise with operational efficiency, ensuring all payroll activities are executed accurately and timely. We offer a flexible working environment where the chosen candidate will have the option to work from home (WFH Flexible), contingent on project needs and team coordination. This role is pivotal in maintaining our reputation for employee satisfaction and operational excellence, directly impacting our staff's morale and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Manage the distribution of paychecks or arrange direct deposits to employees' bank accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
  • Prepare reports detailing payroll expenditure for the Finance department on a regular basis.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting departments to facilitate efficient payroll processing.
  • Engaged in continuing education and training to remain proficient in payroll software and legislative updates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Manager.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations relating to payroll.
  • Proficient in MS Office and payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills; attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidentiality in financial and personal matters adeptly.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Comfortable with information technology and various financial software.
