As a Fleet Manager at Lincoln Transportation LLC, you will step into a strategic role, overseeing and enhancing the operations of a fleet of trucks. We have designed a specialized program for Class A Drivers who aspire to transition from behind the wheel to a more strategic position managing a fleet. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position suitable for individuals capable of managing multiple tasks effectively and driving operational success.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the transportation fleet, ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement strategies to increase productivity and profitability of the fleet operations.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring they are done in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Analyze operational data to forecast needs and plan fleet expansions or reductions.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms on fleet-related purchases.
  • Ensure safety protocols and company policies are adhered to by all fleet members.
  • Lead and manage a team of drivers, ensuring high levels of motivation, performance, and job satisfaction.
  • Handle budgeting responsibilities for the fleet, including forecasting and managing expenses to maximize profitability.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including upper management, fleet staff, and clients to maintain operational harmony and client satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for fleet staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Manage crises, resolving issues related to shipments, vehicle accidents, and emergency responses promptly and effectively.
  • Utilize technology to improve the reliability and efficiency of fleet operations.

Requirements

  • Must have 5 years or more experience as a truck driver.
  • Must possess deep knowledge and a minimum of 5 years experience in the transportation industry.
  • Must have a 680 credit score to facilitate funding options.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team of drivers and support personnel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle the complex logistics of fleet management.
  • Robust problem-solving abilities to swiftly address and rectify operational issues.
  • Capability to work flexibly and adapt management strategies to changing business needs and challenges.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively deal with suppliers, contractors, and clients.
  • Exceptional communication abilities to clearly convey information and engage with all organizational levels.
