Complete Logistical Services is pleased to announce an opening for a Purchasing Manager at our headquarters in New Orleans, LA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in procurement and supply chain management. As a Purchasing Manager with CLS, you will play a pivotal role in managing our procurement operations, ensuring all materials, products, and services are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. Please note, this is an on-site position and not eligible for remote work.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the purchasing process, from developing purchasing strategies to managing vendor relations. This role is crucial in maintaining optimal inventory levels, executing procurement strategies aligned with company goals, and ultimately supporting overall operational efficiency within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor their performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and finance departments to forecast demand and plan efficient purchases.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify and realize cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations surrounding procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing information, contracts, and performance reports.
  • Resolve any supply chain issues, delays, or discrepancies that may impact business operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance and support where necessary to enhance team performance and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–7+ years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
