Complete Logistical Services is excited to announce a new opening for a dedicated and experienced 1600 Ton Chief Engineer. It is important to note that this is not a remote job, and the successful candidate will be required to work on-site to manage daily operational challenges effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all shipboard mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Manage engine room crew and delegate maintenance tasks effectively to ensure optimal team performance and vessel safety.
  • Ensure compliance with marine regulations and safety standards, including the operation of the vessel within environmental laws and regulations.
  • Supervise repairs and technical issues, including unexpected failures, and coordinate with shore-based technical and operational management teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of engine hours, inspections, maintenance routines, and repair works in accordance with company policies and maritime law.
  • Conduct regular training sessions with engine room staff to ensure all team members are up to date with the latest safety procedures and operational protocols.
  • Coordinate with the captain and deck officers to plan and execute operations, ensuring the engine department aligns with the overall objectives of the vessel’s missions.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and efficiency, implementing strategies to reduce waste and optimize performance.
  • Manage budgets for the engineering department, including requisitions for spares, tools, and necessary supplies.
  • Ensure that all safety systems, such as firefighting equipment and life-saving devices, are in excellent working condition.

Requirements

  • Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with endorsements relevant to a 1600 Ton Chief Engineer position and current dates.
  • Current USCG Medical Certificate with valid National and STCW dates.
  • Chief Engineer Unlimited rating with Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) endorsement on License.
  • Possession of Basic Safety Training and Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties (VPDSD) certification.
  • Water Survival must be the Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (T-HUET) OPITO approved, Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET), or Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET).
  • Rigging certification complying with API-RP-2D standard.
  • Safe Gulf or Rig Pass accreditation.
  • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required for employment but is recommended for the safety and health of all team members.
