Duties and Responsibilities

  • Repair various models of garbage trucks, focusing on both functionality and reliability.
  • Conduct hydraulic system repairs and maintenance, applying specialist knowledge is advantageous.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and maintenance, ensuring all machinery operates at optimal levels.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools proficiently to identify and rectify vehicle component issues.
  • Carry out comprehensive quality inspections before reintroducing vehicles to service.
  • Resolve issues related to engines, transmissions, and other essential vehicle systems.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to foster a proactive and supportive work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure workplace.
  • Keep detailed records of services performed and parts used for future reference and inventory management.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and practices in vehicle maintenance to improve service quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a mechanic, particularly with diesel engines and heavy vehicles.
  • In-depth knowledge of shop equipment crucial for effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and solve issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented, capable of managing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to the dynamic demands of the role.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, contributing positively to team goals and relationships.
