Job Description

Complete Logistical Services is excited to announce a job opening for a Maintenance Technician. This position offers an opportunity to join our dynamic, skilled team in a Contract/Temporary role focused on facilities maintenance. The Maintenance Technician position is vital to ensuring the operational effectiveness of our facilities. It is important to note that this is not a remote job, requiring the selected candidate to work on-site to effectively carry out their duties.

The role suits an individual ready to contribute to the maintenance of a large, sprawling property consisting of nearly 200,000 sq ft located on 20 acres. It involves maintaining and repairing a variety of systems and equipment, from HVAC to electrical setups. While based primarily in Chesapeake, VA, at Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division (MSD), occasional travel to other locations may be necessary depending on company needs. Additionally, you might need to work overtime or during weekends when special projects are underway or to address emergency repair needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete minor building and facility repairs/maintenance.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance and upkeep of company vehicles and other rolling equipment.
  • Provide assistance in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on shop equipment.
  • Complete general maintenance of building and grounds.
  • Respond to all approved management/employee generated work order requests through the facilities work order system.
  • Maintain life safety equipment and perform monthly inspections.
  • Gain working knowledge of facilities plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Move furniture or cubicles as needed to support office and equipment moves, including occasional interior painting.
  • Perform monthly inspections of the facility for safety and material condition issues and report with suggested solutions to the Facilities Manager.
  • Provide relief for receptionist when needed.
  • Maintain reasonable care and proper storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Comply with MSD company policies, safety requirements, and Core Values.
  • Follow facilities maintenance and inspection procedures, adhere to company policies and procedures, and work safely in keeping with the STOP principles.
  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year related experience performing facilities maintenance.
  • Must have a working knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods, and practices involved in building maintenance and repair (i.e., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, and painting).
  • Capability to manage multitasking situations and priorities efficiently.
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills ensuring effective reporting and coordination within the Maintenance team.
  • Possess basic troubleshooting skills and the capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and operate required machinery safely.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work performed.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record, as travel to different facilities and locations may be required.
