As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, ensuring the efficiency and safe handling of various heavy machinery required for our projects. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, reliability, and the capability to manage and operate heavy equipment in a safe and professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, and skid steers according to project needs.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks prior to operation of any machinery.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Adhere to company policies and safety standards at all times while on the job site.
- Report any malfunctions or irregularities in equipment performance immediately to the maintenance team.
- Assist in the training of new staff by providing knowledgeable and expert guidance as needed.
- Ensure operations are conducted with a focus on environmental sustainability and minimizing waste.
- Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss forecasts, performance, and to align on future tasks.
- Handle loading and unloading operations and ensure the proper handling of materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times to boost efficiency and safety.
- Execute tasks in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in a similar industrial setup.
- Valid certifications for operating heavy machinery specifically 50,000lb excavators (required for at least two operators).
- Valid certifications for operating other related machinery such as forklifts and skid steers (required for another two operators).
- Strong understanding of mechanical operation and maintenance of heavy equipment.
- Ability to interpret and comply with operational and safety manuals.
- Excellent physical condition and coordination as the job involves extensive fieldwork.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in heavy equipment operation is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Capacity to work in varied outdoor conditions (e.g., extreme weather, noisy, dusty environments).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and maintain a high level of organization.
- Demonstrable record of punctuality and reliability in previous employment.
