Roche Bros., Inc. (RBI), a high-quality hardscape construction firm with a specialty in all types of retaining wall installations, is excited to announce a job opening for an Assistant Foreman based near Mount Alto, PA. This full-time position offers an engaging role for those deeply experienced in hardscaping and heavy labor tasks. Please note, this is not a remote position; the Assistant Foreman will be expected to actively participate in various projects directly on-site.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a variety of construction equipment (We can train you).
  • Perform laborer duties when not operating equipment.
  • Set accurate elevations using grade laser tools.
  • Read and lay out work from construction drawings.
  • Make challenging cuts and execute complex tasks on-site.
  • Communicate field issues effectively to supervisors.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of project tasks under the guidance of the foreman.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Lead and motivate a team of workers to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Regularly inspect machinery and equipment for any maintenance needs and safety issues.
  • Report progress and any potential project delays to the management team.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required for many of our projects.
  • Must speak and understand English.
  • Minimum 2 years of hardscaping experience (e.g., retaining walls, patios, walkways).
  • Strong proficiency in operating construction equipment a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and execute plans and elevations accurately.
  • Safety-conscious with strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong command of construction techniques and job site management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges.
  • High level of physical stamina and strength necessary for heavy lifting and long hours.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience supervising a team.
