Summary of the Role

We are searching for a skilled and dedicated hygienist to provide a comprehensive range of preventive services. In this role, you will be a vital part of our patient-centered setting, focusing on continuity of care and fostering trust with the families we serve. You will work closely with our dedicated staff and the owner-dentist to promote a warm, supportive environment that makes a meaningful difference in our patients' lives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Relationship-Based Care: Build and maintain long-term relationships with patients, ensuring they feel known and valued at every visit.
  • Preventive Care: Perform high-quality prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance for a diverse patient base in a single-column hygiene model focused on clinical excellence and patient experience.
  • Periodontal Therapy: Conduct comprehensive periodontal care thorough scaling and root planing (SRP) and monitor periodontal health.
  • Diagnostic Assistance: Evaluate medical histories, capture high-quality digital X-rays, and perform thorough periodontal screenings.
  • Clinical Documentation: Capture clear intraoral images to document clinical findings and assist in patient co-discovery of treatment needs.
  • Digital Workflow: Maintain accurate, timely clinical notes and treatment plans within our fully paperless practice management system.
  • Patient Education: Partner with patients to improve their health through tailored brushing and flossing techniques and nutritional counseling.
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the dentist and staff to ensure a cohesive, family-oriented experience for everyone in the office.

Requirements

  • Valid Virginia State Dental Hygiene License and CPR certification.
  • Professionalism: A pleasant and compassionate personality with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at home.
  • Local Anesthesia certification and experience with sealants (preferred).
