Position Summary
The Dental Assistant at Chandler Dental Home is crucial for maintaining clinical efficiency, ensuring patient comfort, and contributing to the overall success of our practice. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and adept at anticipating the needs of the dentist, facilitating a smooth and efficient patient flow.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Chairside assisting during various dental procedures such as restorative works and surgical operations.
- Assist in procedures involving crowns, bridges, fillings, extractions, and root canals.
- Take high-quality digital radiographs and capture intraoral photos and scans using iTero scanners.
- Maintain rigorous isolation techniques during procedures.
- Accurately chart procedures and patient interactions in Dentrix and Dentrix-Ascend practice management software.
- Efficiently prepare and breakdown operatories before and after procedures.
- Ensure all instruments are properly sterilized in line with OSHA standards.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols as per guidelines.
- Monitor dental supplies and effectively communicate inventory needs.
- Provide clear and concise pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients.
- Translate and facilitate communication between the dental staff and Spanish-speaking patients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental assisting is required.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
- Must hold a valid Arizona Radiation Certification.
- Must have a current CPR certification.
- Familiarity and compliance with OSHA & HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix and Dentrix-Ascend dental software.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and reliability in previous roles.
