As a Human Resource Specialist, you will play a key role in fostering a welcoming and supportive work environment. You will be involved in a range of activities from recruitment to performance management and employee relations. With a focus on sustaining high employee engagement and regulatory compliance, the successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping our workforce strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee recruitment campaigns, working closely with department managers to identify staffing needs and ensure timely hiring of qualified candidates.
- Conduct employee onboarding processes and organize training & development initiatives to ensure all team members are equipped for their roles.
- Administer employee benefits programs, managing relations with external providers and ensuring accurate and timely distribution of benefits.
- Lead performance evaluation processes, guiding supervisory staff in the effective assessment of employee performance and career development.
- Handle workplace conflicts and employee relations issues, ensuring they are resolved in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Facilitate communication across the organization, fostering a positive atmosphere of collaboration and respect among staff members.
- Maintain meticulous records of human resources operations and employee data, safeguarding privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Engage in continuous education and professional development opportunities to stay informed of new HR practices, laws, and technology solutions.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy of Deep Green Construction.
- Support the management and executive teams in decision-making processes related to human resources, offering insights and data-driven recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience of at least 3-5 years as a Human Resource Specialist or similar HR role.
- Strong understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws and practices.
- Experience with HR software and tools (e.g., HRIS, ATS, payroll systems).
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
