Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure patient comfort.
- Support patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, ensuring a tidy and sanitary living environment.
- Prepare meals and snacks according to specific dietary requirements and preferences as instructed by healthcare providers or family members.
- Assist patients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.).
- Report any unusual incidents and act swiftly in case of emergencies by notifying relevant medical or professional staff.
- Maintain open communication with family members and healthcare professionals regarding the patient's medical and emotional condition.
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Adhere to the prescribed healthcare plan set by medical professionals to restore patient health.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) required.
- Proven experience as a home health aide or in a similar role in caregiving.
- Knowledge of basic healthcare and hygiene standards.
- Physical ability and stamina to handle the demands of caring for patients, including assisting with mobility and transportation.
- Empathetic and compassionate nature with the ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
- Strong communication skills, proficient in conveying information effectively and sensitively to patients, families, and medical professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient health and personal information.
- Must have a clean criminal background check and no history of malpractice.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to patient's conditions and preferences.
