Swenson Periodontics is thrilled to announce a unique career opportunity for a Part-Time Dental Hygienist in our modern, one-doctor periodontal practice located in the vibrant community of Summerlin, Las Vegas. We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and education in a state-of-the-art environment. Our facilities are equipped with advanced technology including digital radiographs, intra-oral scanners, laser periodontal treatment, Open Dental software, and fully electronic records.

This position is ideal for a mature, compassionate individual ready to deliver the highest standards of periodontal treatment and patient experience. This role is not remote and requires direct interaction with patients in our local office. The successful candidate will join our professional and supportive team, working under the guidance of an outstanding periodontist to offer unparalleled 5-star dental care. The position is set to commence in October 2025, initially on a part-time basis with the potential to transition to full-time as the practice develops.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive periodontal evaluations and assessments for new and returning patients.
• Implement scaling and root planing and other periodontal procedures as required.
• Administer local anesthesia in accordance with certification and practice guidelines.
• Accurately record and update patient treatment and health history in our electronic record system.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of periodontal health.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the periodontist and dental team to formulate comprehensive periodontal treatment plans.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and protocols.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in periodontal care and participate in continuing education as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
• Must be proficient in periodontal procedures, particularly scaling and root planing.
• Local anesthesia certification is required.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a strong ability to connect and educate patients.

Compensation for this role is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will join a supportive team environment, with office hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM including a one-hour lunch break.
