Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to assist clients in their development.
- Collect data meticulously during client sessions to ensure accurate tracking of behavioral progress and hurdles.
- Conduct one-on-one therapeutic interventions with children to promote skill acquisition based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Maintain a consistent communication channel with supervisors and parents to update them on client progress and receive feedback on intervention strategies.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss client developments, share insights, and brainstorm on improving therapeutic approaches.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards as set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and remain updated with the latest ABA research and techniques.
- Ensure the physical safety of clients at all times during sessions.
- Prepare educational materials and resources as needed to support client goals and interventions.
- Assist in the creation of supportive environments that foster client growth and learning.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma; a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related field is preferred.
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Proven experience working with children with autism, special needs, or in early childhood settings.
- Strong understanding and clinical application of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Demonstrable passion for child development and a commitment to helping children achieve their fullest potential.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills to effectively assess client progress and adapt interventions as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary for effective collaboration with colleagues, children, and families.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Commitment to maintaining professional and ethical standards of practice in accordance with BACB guidelines.
