We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Development Representative to join our growing team. The Business Development Representative (BDR) will play a pivotal role in driving our business forward. You will be focused on identifying and generating new business opportunities that support the company's strategic objectives. With a commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of the market dynamics, the ideal candidate will excel in engaging prospective clients and developing strong partnerships that result in successful business ventures.
The position is a work from home/remote position but candidates must be local to the Kansas City metro area for travel and meeting purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prospect, qualify, and generate new sales leads to support the Business Development team.
- Engage with potential clients through cold calling, email marketing, and other lead generation activities.
- Analyze market trends and client needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales and manufacturing partners to develop strategic outreach strategies that enhance brand visibility and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Manage and nurture relationships with prospective clients to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
- Work with team members to develop and implement business plans that aim to increase revenue and market share.
- Attend industry conferences, webinars, and other events to stay updated on market trends and competitive activities.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of company products, services, and pricing strategies.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategic goals.
- Prepare regular reports on progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics.
- Local and regional travel up to 20% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven track record of success in a sales or business development role, preferably in the technology, engineering, or industrial sector.
- Strong understanding of sales performance metrics and ability to interpret and capitalize on market trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
- Experience with CRM software and tools, such as Salesforce, to effectively manage leads and customer interactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the capability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Creative thinker with a visionary outlook and relentless in pursuit of exceeding both company and personal performance goals.
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet business needs (although the position is remote, occasional travel may be necessary).
