Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including charting and documenting patient information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
- Provide dental care to pediatric patients, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience
Qualifications:
- Valid dental hygiene license in Indiana
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Proficiency in using dental software for medical records management (e.g., CAD)
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options
- Experience in dental assisting is a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
