Total Veterinary Care is adding a full-time Veterinary Assistant/Unlicensed Veterinary Technician to our growing practice. We're searching for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and committed to providing excellent patient care and outstanding client service.

Whether you're assisting during surgery, drawing blood, educating pet owners, or helping appointments stay on schedule, you'll be an important part of a hospital that values teamwork, professionalism, and compassion.


Compensation & Schedule:

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Compensation is based on previous veterinary experience, technical abilities, and overall qualifications.

Full-Time Hours

  • 30-40 hours per week

  • Rotating Saturday shifts required

  • Hospital hours: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM (Mon-Sat)


What You'll Do:

As a Veterinary Assistant/non-licensed technician, your responsibilities will include a variety of medical, technical, and client-service duties, including:

  • Assisting veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgical procedures, and medical workups

  • Properly restraining canine and feline patients while maintaining a calm, low-stress environment

  • Collecting blood samples and placing IV catheters

  • Performing in-house laboratory testing

  • Preparing medications and accurately filling prescriptions

  • Recording patient histories and maintaining complete medical records

  • Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas

  • Communicating clearly with clients regarding treatments, medications, preventive care, and discharge instructions

  • Supporting teammates to keep appointments running efficiently throughout the day

No two days are exactly alike, so flexibility, organization, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed are important.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 12 months of full-time experience working as a veterinary assistant/ non-licensed technician in a veterinary hospital

  • Confidence performing common veterinary assistant skills with minimal supervision

  • Working knowledge of veterinary terminology, preventive healthcare, medications, and basic medical calculations

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

  • Careful attention to detail and accurate record keeping

  • A positive, team-oriented attitude

  • A professional work ethic with dependable attendance

  • A desire to continue learning and developing technical skills
