A Day in the Life of an Associate Dentist at Desert Sky Family Dental

On any given day, you can expect to:

  • Arriving 15 minutes before daily huddles to jump start your day
  • Collaborate with a driven team of clinical professionals in a modern, fully-equipped office.
  • Manage the care of 15-25 patients from our diverse Phoenix community, treating them with personalized compassion.
  • Perform a full scope of general dentistry procedures, including diagnostics, restorations, extractions, endo, ortho, and implants, utilizing advanced technology like CEREC and CBCT.
  • Diagnose and educate patients to align their needs with appropriate treatments, ensuring high case acceptance.
  • Support doctor-led treatment recommendations and complete auxiliary procedures such as impressions, sealants, and fluoride treatments.
  • Participate in team huddles, continuing education sessions, and performance reviews to drive personal and practice growth.
  • Make care calls to follow up with patients, ensuring they are scheduled for future visits and addressing any concerns.
  • Contribute to a relationship-based approach, greeting patients personally and building trust.

This Role Is for You If...

  • You excel at clinical decision-making and patient education.
  • You value clear, empathetic communication with patients and team members.
  • You embrace a culture of growth, accountability, and collaboration.
  • You are committed to personal and professional development, including pursuing advanced training (e.g., 100+ hours of CE annually if needed).
  • You seek to build lasting relationships with patients and contribute to team success.
  • You are self-driven, results-oriented, and willing to invest in long-term partnership opportunities.
  • You understand that success comes from daily improvement, cultural alignment, and a "we" mentality.

This Role Is Not for You If...

  • You resist change or prefer "tried and true" methods over innovation.
  • You are uncomfortable with performance metrics or feedback.
  • You view dentistry as a solo endeavor rather than a team effort.
  • You lack enthusiasm for ongoing education and growth.
  • You treat this as a short-term position rather than a career with potential for ownership.

What Winning Looks Like

We support your success by reviewing key metrics—such as production, case acceptance, patient satisfaction scores, and treatment outcomes—monthly, providing mentorship, training, and resources to help you excel. Winning includes:

  • Achieving consistent production goals while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Building deep patient trust, leading to referrals and retention.
  • Demonstrating growth through expanded clinical skills and contributions to practice efficiency.
  • Aligning with our "Head, Heart, Hands" fit: strong clinical expertise, cultural alignment, and practical execution.

Deal Breakers

  • Not fully aligned with our core values of excellence, teamwork, and compassion.
  • Inability to commit to a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Lack of experience in full-scope general dentistry or unwillingness to develop advanced skills.
  • No interest in long-term growth or partnership within the practice.

Summary

We seek an experienced Associate Dentist with a valid Arizona license, at least 2 years of practice, and proficiency in general procedures; new graduates with strong mentorship potential and commitment to 100+ CE hours annually are considered if they demonstrate exceptional fit. This role offers competitive compensation, benefits, and equity opportunities in a growing practice. If you do not align with the above, this may not be the right fit - but for those who do, expect a rewarding career elevating patient care and professional standards. We need dedicated professionals like you to help our community smile brighter.
