Job Description

Texas Gulf Recycling is excited to announce an opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator in our Recycling Operations team. As this position involves significant on-site responsibilities, it is not eligible for remote work.

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be integral to our operations, maneuvering complex machinery that is crucial to our recycling processes. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, material handlers, and roll-off trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Fabricate and assemble components as needed for various projects.
  • Sanitize work areas and equipment to maintain cleanliness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Execute heavy lifting tasks as required during operations and material handling.
  • Clean and maintain the work site, ensuring all debris is removed and areas are organized.
  • Dig trenches or holes as necessary for construction or maintenance projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, including but not limited to loaders, garbage trucks, and forklifts.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the shift.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Previous experience in fabrication or construction environments is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required depending on the specific equipment operated.
