Texas Gulf Recycling is excited to announce a vacancy for the position of Industrial Recycling Technician, offering a competitive salary range of $16-$18 per hour, along with housing options. Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong and continuous focus on safety.
- Participate in our daily safety meetings.
- Frequently communicate on two-way radio to coordinate tasks.
- Work alongside operators and other recycling workers to ensure timely maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Assist the scale house in managing and directing truck load disposals.
- Maintain compliance with state regulation standards by ensuring proper waste and debris disposal.
- Prepare and secure trailers for hauler transport.
- Manage waste and debris on access roadways leading into and throughout the facility.
- Support operators in fueling and maintenance checks of equipment.
- Track and report fuel measurements from different storage tanks.
- Assist in conducting pre and post-trip equipment inspections.
- Analyze daily wind directions to establish and coordinate facility muster points.
Requirements
- Strong commitment to learning and adhering to safety and OSHA regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of small engine operations and maintenance (e.g., lawn mowers, pressure washers).
- Proficient with basic tools such as hammers, drills, and impact wrenches.
- Ability to communicate clearly following chain of command.
- Basic understanding of mathematics and measurement principles.
- Capable of giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Team-oriented, able to work well in small groups of 2 to 5 people.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience in the military or as a first responder is viewed favorably.
- Prior experience in the waste or recycling industry strongly preferred.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders multiple times per day.
- Capacity to lift 75 pounds or more.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Resilience in adapting to extreme weather conditions prevalent in Texas, including intense heat, cold, and wet conditions.
