Folsom Family Dentistry is excited to announce an opportunity to join our professional team as a Dental Assistant or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA/EDDA). This part-time position provides a unique chance to engage in a dynamic healthcare setting, providing essential support to our dental professionals and quality care to our patients. Our private practice is located in the heart of our community, and the nature of this role requires in-person attendance, as it is not a remote job opportunity.

The role of Dental Assistant at our private practice is critical to maintaining the smooth operation and effective handling of daily dental procedures. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including preparation and maintenance of dental instruments and supplies.
  • Manage patient intake and dental records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Perform dental radiographs in compliance with prescribed safety protocols.
  • Provide support in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize procedural efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Help manage the appointment schedule to ensure that the clinic operates efficiently without delays.
  • Implement infection control protocol by properly sterilizing and preparing equipment and the environment for dental treatment.
  • Assist with patient education regarding oral hygiene strategies, including postoperative care and general dental health practices.
  • Manage inventory supplies and place orders as necessary, while addressing budget considerations and clinic needs.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a positive team environment by supporting cooperative and collaborative team behavior.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Must be locally based or willing to relocate to ensure in-person presence at our clinic.
  • Ideal candidate would have graduated from an accredited dental assisting program.
  • Fully certified in dental radiography.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and demonstrates a professional, respectful demeanor towards colleagues and patients.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Demonstrable experience and skill in four-handed dentistry procedures.
  • Must embody the clinic's culture of treating others with respect and compassion, reflective of our community-focused values.
