Salary Range:  $26 - $32 hour

Job Title: Tree Climber

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tree Climber to join our team at Washington Tree Services. As a Tree Climber, you will be responsible for climbing and working on trees to perform maintenance services such as pruning, trimming, removals, and other tree care activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Climb and work on trees using proper techniques and safety equipment
  • Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal services using hand tools and power equipment
  • Inspect trees to identify potential hazards and recommend necessary maintenance or removal
  • Use climbing ropes, harnesses, and other safety gear to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
  • Work at heights, including in canopies, branches, and trunks, to access all areas of the tree
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by disposing of debris and equipment properly
  • Follow company policies and procedures for climbing, working, and maintaining equipment
  • Communicate effectively with team members, dispatchers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution

Requirements:

  • 3+ year of experience as a tree climber or arborist in the industry
  • ISAR (International Society of Arboriculture) or equivalent certification
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License
  • Reliable vehicle for transportation to job sites
  • Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Experience with hand tools and power equipment used in tree care, such as pruning saws, loppers, and chainsaws
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to work at heights
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Work Environment:

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
  • Frequent travel to job sites, which may require long hours on the road
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed

Certifications and Training:

Washington State certified arborist or equivalent certification (ISAR) preferred OSHA 30-hour HAZARDOS training recommended CPR/First Aid certification a plus

  • Ability to climb ladders, ropes, and other equipment up to 50 feet
  • Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work in cramped or confined spaces
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods
