Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Landscape / Hardscape Crew Lead to join Washington Landscaping, a division of United Services Northwest.

This is a leadership role for someone who not only knows how to build high-quality outdoor spaces—but can also lead a crew, manage job sites, and ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

You’ll be responsible for running jobs from start to finish, coordinating materials and labor, and maintaining clear communication between the field and office. If you take pride in your work, lead by example, and want to grow into higher-level operations or management, this is a strong opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Job Site Management

  • Lead and supervise a crew on landscape and hardscape projects
  • Delegate tasks, maintain productivity, and ensure quality standards are met
  • Set the pace on-site and lead by example with hands-on work
  • Train and mentor team members to improve skill level and efficiency

Project Execution

  • Oversee installation of paver patios, walkways, and retaining walls
  • Manage builds including fencing, pergolas, arbors, irrigation systems, and lighting
  • Read and interpret plans, layouts, and specifications
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope

Operations & Coordination

  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and daily job site needs
  • Communicate with management regarding progress, delays, or issues
  • Identify and solve problems in real-time to keep jobs moving
  • Maintain accurate updates on job status and completion

Safety & Quality Control

  • Enforce company safety standards and job site protocols
  • Ensure all work meets company quality expectations
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites

Required Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of experience in landscape construction or hardscape installation
  • Proven experience leading crews or managing job sites
  • Strong knowledge of pavers, retaining walls, irrigation systems, and fencing
  • Ability to read blueprints and execute detailed project plans
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience managing multiple projects or crews
  • Ability to estimate or scope smaller jobs
  • Experience with equipment operation (excavators, skid steers, etc.)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Environment

  • Full-time, year-round work
  • Typical 10-hour shifts
  • Outdoor, physically demanding environment
  • Projects across Snohomish, King, and surrounding counties

What Makes This Role Different

  • You are running the job, not just working on it
  • Direct impact on project success, team performance, and customer satisfaction
  • Clear path to grow into Foreman, Operations Manager, or Estimator roles
  • Work within a systems-driven, fast-growing multi-division company

About Washington Landscaping

Washington Landscaping is part of United Services Northwest, a rapidly growing home services company with divisions in landscaping, tree services, roofing, and construction.

We focus on building high-quality outdoor living spaces while creating strong internal systems that support growth, efficiency, and long-term career development.

Day in the Life

Your day starts by reviewing the job plan, organizing your crew, and ensuring materials and equipment are ready. From there, you lead the team through the day’s work—whether that’s building retaining walls, installing patios, or coordinating irrigation and finish work.

You’ll be actively working alongside your crew while also managing workflow, solving problems, and keeping the job on schedule. Throughout the day, you’ll communicate with the office and ensure everything is progressing smoothly.

At the end of the day, your focus is simple: a clean job site, a completed scope, and a high-quality result you and your crew are proud of.
