About Us

United Services Northwest is a family of locally owned service companies providing tree care, landscaping, construction, and more throughout Western Washington. Our tree division, Washington Tree Services, is committed to safe, professional, and high-quality tree work for both residential and commercial clients.

We’re looking for an experienced ISA Certified Tree Climber Lead to take charge of complex tree removals, pruning, and rigging operations. This leadership role is ideal for a climber who has honed their technical skills, values safety, and thrives on mentoring a crew while executing challenging tree work.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead climbing operations for tree removals, pruning, cabling/bracing, and specialty tree care.

  • Use advanced climbing systems (SRT/DRT) and rigging techniques to perform safe, efficient work aloft.

  • Direct, train, and mentor ground crews and junior climbers on safe and efficient practices.

  • Conduct daily jobsite safety briefings and ensure all work is compliant with ANSI Z133 and OSHA standards.

  • Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts, chippers, and other equipment as needed.

  • Assess trees for health, structural integrity, and hazards; communicate findings to clients and project managers.

  • Ensure work is completed on schedule and at the highest quality standard.

What We’re Looking For

  • ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist or ISA Certified Arborist required.

  • Minimum 4–5 years of professional climbing experience with proven leadership in the field.

  • Expertise in advanced rigging, removals, and aerial pruning.

  • Ability to read and execute technical work orders and scope of services.

  • Strong leadership skills—you know how to run a crew and keep the jobsite safe and efficient.

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class B preferred but not required.

  • Excellent communication skills with both crew and clients.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay (based on experience and certifications).

  • Year-round work with steady hours.

  • Supportive team culture focused on safety and professionalism.

  • High-quality equipment, climbing gear, and PPE provided.

  • Opportunities for continued education, certifications, and career advancement within United Services Northwest.
