Job Summary:

The Warehouse Inventory Counter is responsible for performing daily physical inventory counts, verifying stock accuracy, and ensuring proper product organization within the warehouse. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory records, identifying discrepancies, and supporting smooth warehouse operations for apparel and headwear.

Key Responsibilities

I. Physical Cycle Counting & Verification (Primary Focus)

  • Daily Cycle Counting: Execute daily physical counts of inventory across all warehouse locations, systematically verifying quantities of apparel blanks, headwear, patches, and other components.

  • Discrepancy Identification: Identify and document variances between physical counts and system records (NetSuite), researching immediate causes like misplaced items or mislabeled bins.

  • Recounts & Audits: Perform targeted recounts as requested by the Coordinator to resolve specific inventory discrepancies or verify high-priority stock levels.

  • Stocking and Organization: Ensure materials, including Branded Bills stock patches, are organized and stored correctly in their designated bins and locations to maintain counting efficiency.

II. Data Entry & Reconciliation Support

  • Count Logging: Accurately log all daily count results and findings into the warehouse management system or inventory tracking sheets.

  • Variance Reporting: Compile and submit detailed count summaries and recommended inventory adjustments to the Coordinator for final approval and processing.

  • Receiving Verification: Assist with physical count verifications of inbound shipments against packing slips to ensure accuracy from the point of receipt.

III. Quality & Location Maintenance

  • Bin Integrity Audits: Regularly check that bin labels, barcodes, and product tags are correct, legible, and properly placed.

  • Basic Quality Checks: Visually inspect product quality during counts to identify and segment damaged or defective items for the returns team.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of hands-on warehouse experience, specifically in inventory counting, receiving, or stock control (apparel/headwear industry preferred).

  • Strong numerical aptitude and high attention to detail to ensure accurate physical counts.

  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld RF scanning devices.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy.

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
