Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting activities. The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, maintaining internal controls, and providing accurate financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
This role plays a critical part in safeguarding company assets, improving financial processes, and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain compliance with GAAP (or other applicable standards)
Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the annual budgeting process
Develop financial forecasts and cash flow projections
Analyze variances and provide actionable recommendations
Partner with department leaders to monitor financial performance
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Coordinate external audits and tax filings
Oversee sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory reporting
Manage insurance coverage and risk mitigation strategies
Team Leadership
Supervise and develop accounting staff
Establish performance goals and accountability measures
Improve accounting systems and processes for efficiency and scalability
Strategic Support
Provide financial analysis to support executive decision-making
Evaluate pricing strategies, cost structures, and investment opportunities
Support growth initiatives, acquisitions, or expansion efforts
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Compensation: $105k - $155K
