Merchandise Inventory Planning Manager

Job Summary:

At Branded Bills, we pride ourselves on delivering premium custom headwear and apparel with exceptional craftsmanship. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Merchandise Planning to lead merchandise planning, inventory management, and order execution across core products, custom applications, and seasonal assortments. This role is pivotal in connecting sales demand with operational execution — ensuring optimal inventory levels, on-time product flow, and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

 Inventory Management & Controls

Maintain inventory controls to ensure accurate stock levels across all channels and warehouse locations.

Oversee inventory adjustments, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution.

 Manage the Inventory & Returns Coordinator, ensuring returns processing, damage logging, and inventory adjustments are handled efficiently and accurately.

Oversee inbound shipping logistics

Merchandise Financial Planning & Forecasting

 Build and manage seasonal and annual merchandise purchasing plans for core products, custom orders, stock applications, and new seasonal launches.

 Develop demand forecasts based on historical data, market insights, and business targets.

 Partner with Sales, Production, Product Development, and Leadership teams to align merchandise plans with company growth goals.

Product & Application Ordering Management

 Oversee Core Product Ordering & Tracking — ensuring timely procurement of blank goods for all categories.

 Lead Custom Application Ordering & Tracking, coordinating with internal application teams and external partners to meet deadlines and quality standards.

 Manage Stock Application Ordering, maintaining proactive inventory levels to support sales demand.

 Direct New Season Product Ordering, ensuring alignment with product launch calendars and sales initiatives.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

 Lead the Application Ordering Team, fostering accountability, clear processes, and operational excellence.

 Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Production, and Sales teams to ensure merchandise strategies align with capacity, financial plans, and customer expectations.

 Communicate key merchandise and inventory strategies to leadership and relevant departments.

Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement

 Own reporting on merchandise performance, inventory health, forecast accuracy, and ordering efficiency.

 Provide insights on risks and opportunities based on data-driven analysis.

 Drive process improvements within merchandise planning, ordering workflows, and inventory controls.


Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations (experience in apparel, headwear, or consumer goods strongly preferred).

 Proven leadership experience with direct report management and cross-functional teams.

Strong financial and analytical skills with a solid understanding of forecasting, open-to-buy, and inventory planning.

 Experience with ERP and inventory systems (NetSuite or equivalent).

 Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000
