Dependable Nursing is excited to announce a vacancy for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). You will be responsible for administering daily care and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. This position does not operate remotely and requires the nurse to be present at the patient's residence. Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one nursing care based on patient-specific treatment plans.
- Monitor patient's health condition and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the supervising RN or physician.
- Administer medications and complete treatments as prescribed.
- Assist in the development of care plans and participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress.
- Operate and monitor medical equipment.
- Perform routine nursing tasks like dressing wounds, administering injections, and inserting catheters.
- Offer education and support to patients and their families about managing illnesses or injuries.
- Ensure the home environment is safe for the patient by identifying potential hazards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and records securely and accurately.
- Prepare reports and correspondence as required.
Requirements
- Current and valid LVN license in CA.
- 0-2 years of nursing experience; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Experience in home care and pediatrics preferred but not required.
- Ability to work part-time across 2-3 shifts per week.
- Strong observational skills and a detail-oriented approach to patient care.
- Excellent communication skills and the compassion necessary for effective patient and family interaction.
- Physical endurance to perform job duties efficiently throughout 8-hour shifts.
- Demonstrable commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Keen understanding of health and safety guidelines and the ability to implement these in a home setting.
