Clean Team is excited to announce a job opening for a dedicated Terminal Cleaner at our surgical center in Jackson, Michigan. This part-time position is perfect for individuals passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. As a Terminal Cleaner, you will play a critical role in ensuring our facilities meet the health and safety standards necessary for our patients and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, and public areas.
- Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and facility standards.
- Operate various types of cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, mops, and scrubbers.
- Maintain a stock of cleaning supplies and report the need for replenishment.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Dispose of waste and hazardous materials according to established policies.
- Monitor and uphold the hygiene standards and safety regulations as required by the facility’s policies and procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed in the facility.
- Participate in educational programs to update knowledge and skills pertaining to hospital hygiene and safety protocols.
- Adhere to infection-control protocols and procedures including but not limited to hand hygiene, waste disposal, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and completed according to the established guidelines.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial services preferred.
- Ability to learn the use of industrial cleaning equipment and products.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to public health standards.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and spaces efficiently.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform cleaning operations for extended periods.
- Willingness to work part-time hours that may include evening and weekends.
- Physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capability to work independently without supervision as well as a team member.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
