Clean Team is excited to announce a job opening for a dedicated Terminal Cleaner at our surgical center in Jackson, Michigan. This part-time position is perfect for individuals passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. As a Terminal Cleaner, you will play a critical role in ensuring our facilities meet the health and safety standards necessary for our patients and staff. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, and public areas.
  • Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and facility standards.
  • Operate various types of cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, mops, and scrubbers.
  • Maintain a stock of cleaning supplies and report the need for replenishment.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Dispose of waste and hazardous materials according to established policies.
  • Monitor and uphold the hygiene standards and safety regulations as required by the facility’s policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed in the facility.
  • Participate in educational programs to update knowledge and skills pertaining to hospital hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to infection-control protocols and procedures including but not limited to hand hygiene, waste disposal, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and completed according to the established guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial services preferred.
  • Ability to learn the use of industrial cleaning equipment and products.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to public health standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and spaces efficiently.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform cleaning operations for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work part-time hours that may include evening and weekends.
  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capability to work independently without supervision as well as a team member.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
