Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the assigned property, including but not limited to offices, corridors, lobbies, and common areas.
  • Ensure bathrooms are disinfected and adequately stocked with supplies such as soap and paper products.
  • Handle routine upkeep of exterior areas and parking lots.
  • Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Gather and empty trash and recycling bins.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure hazards are not created.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets, as needed.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors, as required.
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs and fixing leaky faucets.
  • Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, or ladders to prepare facilities for events such as banquets or meetings.
  • Assist other departments when necessary to ensure optimum service to guests and employees.
