Disinfectant Solutions of Atlanta, a leader in public facilities maintenance, is excited to announce a part-time job opening for the position of GDOT Laurens (weekend) staff. This position is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and usability of traffic facilities under the supervision of the Georgia Department of Transportation. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the entirety of the designated rest area remains a welcoming and hygienic environment for all its visitors.
This is part-time employment and requires onsite presence during weekends. Please note, this is not a remote job opportunity, and the applicant must be willing and able to commute and work at the GDOT Laurens location during specified hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean all designated rest area facilities extensively, ensuring all public spaces are sanitized, tidy, and presentable.
- Maintain the outside areas, including parking and picnic areas, ensuring they are clean and free from debris.
- Perform thorough cleaning tasks in bathrooms, including but not limited to mopping, sweeping, sanitizing surfaces, and restocking bathroom supplies like tissues and hand soap.
- Regular trash removal from all bins within the rest area to designated disposal points, replace liners as needed to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
- Monitor and report any issues with the rest area facilities — structural, cleanliness, or otherwise — to the management promptly.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are tracked and maintained in good working condition, report any needs for repair or replacement.
- Prepare daily reports and take before-and-after pictures of the cleaning process to be submitted to the supervisory team as part of the accountability and quality assurance protocol.
- Inventory control of cleaning supplies ensuring that all necessary products are available and reorder stocks as necessary.
- Ensure that the rest area remains clean and inviting throughout the duration of the shift, addressing any cleanliness issues immediately as they arise.
Requirements
- Proven experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning roles, particularly in high-traffic public facilities.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring continuous movement and physical activity such as mopping, sweeping, and lifting supplies.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the public.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage supplies and daily tasks effectively.
- Effective communication skills required for reporting and documenting tasks and issues.
- Commitment to the part-time schedule as required for the weekend shifts at the GDOT Laurens location.
- Possession of or ability to obtain relevant cleaning certifications or trainings preferred.
