It is important to note that this is not a remote job and the successful candidate will be expected to work on-site in Laurens. The job is scheduled from Monday to Friday, affirming a stable and routine workweek.
Ideal candidates will be meticulous, dedicated, and capable of working autonomously as well as part of a team. As a custodian, the role demands a proactive approach in various cleaning and maintenance duties, ensuring a well-maintained and hygienic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the designated areas. Tasks include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste removal.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms using established practices and procedure.
- Clean, mop, wash, buff and vacuum floors.
- Assure doors and windows in assigned areas are locked or unlocked as scheduled and report any unauthorized occupants.
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests promptly.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment and materials are maintained in a safe, clean, and operable condition.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and work closely with the management to ensure that necessary items are stocked.
- Document routine inspection and maintenance activities and keep maintenance logs.
- Maintain the grounds of the rest area, ensuring that exterior areas are free of litter and debris.
- Support the company's commitment to fire safety by maintaining proper safety standards and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a custodian, janitor or in a similar role preferably in high traffic venues.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to providing excellent service.
- Ability to follow verbal directions and communicate effectively.
- Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to reach, kneel, and bend.
- Ability to work individually or as an active team member.
- High school diploma is preferred but not required.
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday, implementing standard cleaning duties efficiently.
- Accountability in maintaining designated areas—restrooms, public spaces, and outdoor areas of the rest area.
- Commitment to ethical conduct and safety compliance as per organizational guidelines.
